Is Apple Distorting the Term "VoiceOver?"

Ah! We showed you the Apple "how to record voiceover" with Joe Cipriano. (or was that Microsoft?) Anyway... Apple has adopted the term for a device that pronounces the name of the song and artist as you listen on your iPod. And it seems they intentionally used a very robotic voice to convey the information. Will that be a future trend we will need to emulate?
Check it out HERE.

Actually, VoiceOver has been a feature of the Mac OS for several years. Exactly what version of OS 10 introduced it, I am not sure. Apple's Mac 101 page about VoiceOver.
I like to use it to help proof read my writing, as it can help me catch a mistake i might have otherwise missed. Or, if I am feeling lazy and get a REALLLY long email, I can turn it on and play it while working on something else... Shhhh, don't tell anyone I do that!
